VENTUS C biofilter at the central pumping station

The 13 m long system equipped with a gas scrubber is able to treat 8,000 cubic meter air per hour.

City of Pécs (approx. 150,000 citizens) is situated in the south of Hungary. All wastewater of the city arrives in the main central pumping station where it is pumped into the network to the treatment plant to be treated.
The screenings, the visible solid waste materials, retained in the wastewater screen during a pre-treatment process is stored in an open container situated at the engineering room. The pumping station is located in a crowded side of the city, this waste-container had already been covered in a closed building. To eliminate the odour problems generated by the containerised and storage waste a biofilter was installed, but it was broken down and mechanically depreciated. To solve the smell problem the operator of the pumping station bought a new system from Pureco.
Taking into consideration the amount of the air to be treated, the specialities of the engineering room we offered VENTUS C Biofilter, that is inserted into a container and is ready to treat the 8,000 cubic meter odour air in an hour.

We are glad that we could install the first VENTUS C system in Hungary, and our system is able to prove its efficiency not only in Bulgaria (at a landfill in the city of Stara Zagora) but in Hungary as well.

VENTUS Biofilter catalogue

So far, PURECO GROUP had been focusing only on water treatment and management among the main activities. As during the previous years a strong need has been emerging for air pollution control our experts have developed PURECO VENTUS biodesodor family of product.
Starting the development 2-3 years ago we tested our products on pumping stations and wastewater treatment plants that we had constructed. Right after the first successful testing process, we completed the product range and now there are five different styled biofilter units using biodegradation for odour air treatment with biomass. Units are available from the smallest 10 m3/h to the largest VENTUS that can handle and treat 100 000 m3/h airstreams or even more. Moreover, we have a special unit uses a different method for the purification: adsorption with activated carbon.

VENTUS L in Subotica

The regional waste management centre in Subotica, which will be finalized in 2018 is located halfway between Békova and Orom. The new development is ready to manage the waste produced by 260,000 people in the region, focusing on the long-term goal generating a new approach towards waste management that enables economic re-evaluation of waste while at the same time ensuring the highest level of health and environmental protection for people.

As a result of the investment, we completely solved the air treatment of the pre-sorting building of the regional landfill. Our system with dust bag separator first removes the dust from the air, and the built-in VENTUS L, 20 000 cubic meters per hour biofilter cleans the resulting odour air.
Our VENTUS L system’s UV stable PP sandwich panel frame provides sufficient strength to store the equipment needed to clean the larger air stream. Cleaning 20.000 cubic meters polluted air per hour does not mean that huge concrete equipment was placed by the works of art, VENTUS L needs only the flat concrete basement and other installations can be built up several days later. The newly developed wall system can set up fast, it is not only quick but it looks better than the ordinary concrete system. We use stainless steel posts for the wall and EPDM sealing to make it airtight. The system is working automatically, only supervision is required.
Our large-capacity VENTUS biofilter system has proved not only in Bulgaria, at the municipal solid waste disposal site near the town of Stara Zagora, but it also contributes to the treat the odour air now also in Serbia too.

TRP in Turkey

We are very proud of the fact that Pureco IDEA and its innovative stormwater treatment solution can prove its effectiveness in Turkey, where we are working on a Hungarian pilot project regarding rainwater purification at highways.

There are currently 31 000 km of highways in Turkey but they are not equipped with stormwater purification systems in accordance with European standards. Rainfall one on the surfaces often gets contaminated, contamination is generated from pollutants on the paved surfaces coming from vehicle's wear parts and fuel derivatives. Oil derivatives and heavy metals can get into the surface or groundwater with stormwater, damaging agriculture and crops along the motorways and highways, and indirectly our health.

As part of our pilot project, we implement a special oil separator system on a test section of the highway. The system is called ENVIA TRP: developed by Pureco IDEA for filtering and retaining the contaminants washed away by stormwater flowing down from the highway. The equipment can be installed into existing stormwater drainage systems, easy to install and simple to operate.
In Turkey, this is the first time when such a stormwater treatment system is being built, this novel product is a special one in the Turkish market.

We are coming back soon with a report on the implementation and installation, by the end of March next year we will be able to treat 1 400 litres contaminated stormwater by the Turkish highway in every second!

Water-purification and service system construction in Vietnam / Drinking Water Treatment

The project contributes to the increase of the quality of life of the low-income households and families, and to the development of basic infrastructure.

Pureco Ltd. as a member of the project owner, Hungarian Water Cluster, is contributing to the development of the water treatment plant with its professional knowledge, design and construction experience. The project will see a 22 000 m3/day capacity surface water intake structure built on the Rao Nan River, which will serve as the main water base.

Roadshow in Hungary

LEGO

The technologies offered by Pureco Ltd., are utilized, among others, in Nyíregyháza, Hungary, where the most significant project development of this year is taking place. The Danish LEGO’s new factory is being built. This investment will not only create jobs, but will also provide an opportunity, for the accumulated knowledge in the field of civil engineering, to emerge in the form of creative solutions during the construction. 
The experts of the contractor, COLAS-Alterra Ltd. installed the elements of the 1500 m3 infiltration field, supplied by Pureco Ltd. In order to infiltrate the precipitation a special   „Twinstore „ corrugated steel pipe technology is used. The construction of this system involves less ground work; its installation is fast and easy. The system’s lifetime has a significant influence on its interoperability and on the contrary to the technologies used so far – it is effectively cleanable, maintainable and inspectable. 
Besides gathering the run-off rainwater, the infiltration and purification of the rainwater that is not intended for use, is essential as well. The issue of rainwater purification, 300 and 125 l/s, was solved with the installation of PURECO TNP hydraulic capacity steel oil separators.
The factory’s entire firewater system was constructed from products supplied by Pureco Ltd. The mandatory ‘sprinkler’ system’s main pipe structure consists of Duktus Tiroler „ PUR LONGLIFE” pipes. The 3km long ring main was built with patented restrained socket joint, polyurethane coated, ductile cast iron pipes, from the DN 100-300 mm range. These are capable to withstand the usual 16 bar pressure in the main pipes of the ‘sprinkler’ systems, required by the authorities in case of buildings such as the LEGO factory.
The development is an excellent example of the cooperation, where Pureco Ltd as a partner delivers expertise and innovative solutions for an environmentally responsible project implementation.

PET Food

Pureco Ltd. and our technology partner Nijhuis Water Technology, are happy to announce that we signed a contract, as a result of our successful cooperation, with the Partner in PET Food Ltd.

PET Ltd. contracted PURECO to design, license, build, and as a closure for the project, to test run their factory’s new industrial wastewater pre-treatment facility, to treat the 100m3/day wastewater resulting from pet food manufacturing, in Sopronharacsi.
The filtration of the strongly organically polluted wastewater is going to be followed by a physical-chemical flocculation/fluctuation technology treatment.

According to the limits/standards prescribed, with regards to the public sewer, in the 28/2004 KvVM regulations, a second phase - biological treatment of the wastewater - is needed. Considering the fluctuating quality and quantity of the wastewater we chose a flexible SBR technology , which allows us to offset the treatment not in place, but in time in the reactor compartment.

The technical handover is estimated to be at the end of August, after which we will start the test run of the pre-treatment facility. The results of the test run and further details of the project are going to be published later on our website.

Domestic waste, being placed on landfills, contain huge amount of bio- and chemical degradable organic materials. Treatment of leachate - arising from its moisture and rainfall – is difficult due to its unstable characteristics, high organic and ammonia content, but is essential to avoid huge environmental risks. Pureco provides turn-key, containerized leachate treatment units, equipped with the latest technological development with the so called Spacer Tube® module (ST), produced and patented by Ultura, operating with Reverse Osmosis technology, installed after suitable pretreatment steps.

Advantages of the ST® modules
The main advantage of these ST® is the large surface area of the membranes, compared to the disc membranes accommodated in the same sized membrane vessels. The larger surface are ensures lower membrane flux (ltr/hr/m2) at identical flow rate, or the possibility pressing higher flow rate through the membrane at constant membrane flux.
Due to this phenomena, the RO membrane cleaning becomes less frequent and therefore the cleaned water yield is significantly increased.

Due to the growth of road traffic and road networks a significant and increasing amount of dense gaseous, liquid and solid pollutants - including harmful heavy metals – are polluting the environment and contaminate the precipitation running off the roads. Some of the contaminants are fuel residues (unburned fuel), materials used as additives, lubricants. Other contaminants are remains derived from the operation of the vehicle’s worn parts and friction. These primarily contain metallic components. Heavy metals are washed off into our surface and ground waters by precipitation falling on the road’s surface thus harmfully affecting our health through damaging plants and vegetables cultivated along the roads and motorways. The pollutant retention in run-off rainwaters and storm water pre-treatment along road infrastructures is absolutely crucial. Future storm water management and its challenges need to be taken into account already during the design phase of our urban and road infrastructures.

The Ventus compact biofilter units are designed to treat medium volume airstreams wherever odorair emissions occur, particularly in wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, sludge handling units, sewage storage systems where putrefaction potential exist.
These filters are developed for our own constructed WWTP-s, of course we are open to offer for the market our well tested and tried units. The devices can be used for other fields  such as the food, and chemical industry etc.
There are two types of operational modes for this equipment, an active and passive mode. This is determined by the type of the flow through the equipment, our passive units can be easily upgraded to active, the main body remains the same the additional parts are the fan, control panel, and the automatic humidity control unit.
VENTUS units can handle from 10 to 500 m3/h, for higher airstreams you can multiply and increase the stages.

Ventilo pipes are specially self-developed for the aeration system of organic waste. Pureco VENTILO pipes together with the GORE® membrane technology make the perfect combination of covered compost plants.

Ventilo has the best price/performance ratio on the market of aeration pipes, with additional accessories (connection pipes, shafts, siphon) can handle both, the aeration and compost leachate processes as well. The hole sizes of the perforation are small enough to prevent clogging and large enough for aeration on constant pressure.

The pipe's robust body is made from a special tough concrete inorder to carry the heavy waste handling front-end loader manipulating the compost. The air- and watertight rubber sealing ensures the perfect connection.

One of today's returning environmental problems is the significant damage caused by high intensity rainfall flooding roads, gardens and homes. Over the years, a significant decrease in the mountainous and hilly environment and an increase of paved surfaces within the settlements lead to a higher amount of stormwater reaching the lowland than before. The contiguous, large paved and built-in surfaces do not have any water-holding capacity, and therefore pose a serious threat.

Due to the erosion caused by high intensity rainfalls and pollutants washed off of paved surfaces, today the runoff water can only be introduced into the recipient after a proper pre-treatment, when the water quality reaches the required levels.

We believe our patented solution can be the answer to protect our waters! EWA SPRING DAYS 2015
BUDAPEST WATER CONFERENCE

Between 4 and 6 March 2015 Budapest will become the capital of the global
water community again.
In the framework of the European Water Association’s (EWA) Spring Conference
series the Hungarian Water Association (MaSzeSz), under the patronage
of HE János Áder, president of Hungary and in collaboration with the Budapest
Waterworks, will organize the joint 2015 EWA Spring Days - Budapest
Water Conference and field trip.
The joint conference is designed to serve as an open and dynamic platform
that enables participants to gain knowledge – through tried-and-tested solutions
and practical examples presented by professionals from all around the
world – on how experts handle challenges under similar or different circumstances.
The three day event will provide a timely opportunity for public and private
sector decision-makers, water utility professionals, experts and other stakeholders
from the developed and the developing world to exchange views and
share experiences with leading international experts on the most pressing
challenges and potential solutions in the field urban water management.
During the entire programme a water industry expo will be open at the venue
of the conference.
